Emmy
Award Winning Actress Julia Barr to Leave All My Children
New York, NY, October
30, 2006 -- After playing Brooke English on ABC's All My Children for the past
30 years, actress Julia Barr is leaving the daytime drama when her contract ends in December. The actress was offered "recurring"
status rather than a contract, and Barr has declined the offer.
Regarding
her time with All My Children Barr said, "It has been a wonderful job for me
on every level, and a great ensemble of actors with whom I had the pleasure to work. I am so proud to have been a part of
a show that was once a television icon. I want the fans to know how much I truly appreciate all of their love, support,
loyalty and enthusiasm over the years."
As
for professional plans following her departure Barr adds, "There are a few things I am considering and a whole new chapter
ahead, which I am looking forward to."
Barr's
work on All My Children garnered her eight Emmy Award nominations (1980, 1981, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994,
1998, 2001), and she won the trophy in 1990 and 1998 for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
